Public Health Warning
The FDA issued a report dated May 4, 2009 claiming that certain toxic and carcinogenic substances were found in the cartridge solutions of electronic cigarettes.
The news release issued by the FDA shows 19 varieties of electronic cigarettes tested, all manufactured by only two companies. The products tested are distributed by NJoy and Smoking Everywhere. Both of these companies’ products contain nicotine. The Smoking Everywhere uses a synthetic nicotine. The NJoy product utilizes a nicotine that is actually derived from tobacco.
Some samples contained nitrosamines which is one of the 69 substances in traditional cigarettes believed to contribute to cancer. Nitrosamines are present in tobacco so it follows that any product containing tobacco or derived from tobacco would likely contain this chemical. Logically enough, no nitrosamines were found in the product that contains a synthetic nicotine.
One of the NJoy samples contained diethylene glycol (DEG) which the FDA labels as toxic.
At Health e-Choice, we demand the utmost in quality control in our manufacturing plant to ensure that our product is free of such impurities. The SmokeFree cartridge liquid does not contain tobacco and is not in any way derived from tobacco. Accordingly, the SmokeFree does not contain nitrosamines.
Health e-Choice is unique in that we are the only company that currently does not use nicotine as an ingredient in its cartridge liquid.
